This summer, NYSERDA will be launching the K-12 Initiative. This initiative encourages schools to lower energy use and utility bills while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The K-12 Initiative promotes clean energy efforts by educating, guiding, and assisting schools that implement clean energy projects and commit to sustainability-focused principles at their facilities and in their classrooms. While this initiative will provide specific funding for K-12 schools soon, NYSERDA currently has several funding programs and initiatives that schools can take advantage of right now to help reduce their energy bills and greenhouse gas emissions.

The FlexTech Program shares the costs of technical services to help eligible schools in New York State make informed energy decisions. Energy consultants work with schools to create a customized assessment that identifies specific opportunities for reducing energy consumption and costs. FlexTech can provide funding to:

  • Develop energy master plans
  • Assess and analyze energy performance contracts to confirm anticipated savings

SmartEdge is your pre-approved FlexTech consultant!
